Wishful Wednesday*)

Kelsey over at the Seattle Smiths hosts a fun blog on Wednesdays, hop on over to tell her what you're wishful for!

'I wish' I had Anthropologie as my personal closet and I could shop from it daily!

Anthropologie is one of those stores where I can walk in and find just about anything that I need. Being a busty lady, I have a hard time finding tops that are big enough in the chest but small enough in the waist area. Luckily, I can go to Anthro and the women there are such a big help. My favorite line of clothing lately is Free People, the clothes are very flowy, soft and flattering. They literally fit every woman! I am grateful that Anthro carries that line in their stores!

By the way ladies, if you happen to find yourself in this wonderful store, go hunt through the sales racks in the back, you won't be sorry!

*Friends, I've just discovered someone who loves Wilmington, NC as much as I do! Check out this blog

Wishful Wednesday: S&TC2

Kelsey over at The Seattle Smiths won my heart over with this Wishful Wednesday topic...

'I wish' I could be the one and only _________ in Sex and the City 2!
For me...it would be the one and only
Carrie Bradshaw

I honestly feel like I'm cheating the others by picking Carrie because secretly I'd love to be them ALL but Carrie has always "wowed" me since the beginning. After I finished reading "The Carrie Diaries" (Candace Bushnell's newest novel) I loved her even more.

Beginning:

Middle:

End?

She is fabulous.
She is classy.
She knows what she wants.
She got her Mr. Big.
She writes for Vogue (I mean come on, who wouldn't want to do that!)
She has the closet of every girl's dreams.
She has 3 best girl friends, something that every girl cherishes.
She's Carrie.

Wishful Wednesday*)

Kelsey has an awesome Wishful Wednesday topic today, I was so excited to do this with her:

'I wish' I had never-ending funds to donate to a charity and it would be...
Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund
The Work Continues
Diana has always been my idol for as long as I can remember.
I've admired her for her strong will to go against her role as royalty and use her power for the benefit of others.
She did what she believed was right.

As a humanitarian, she broke down barriers that no other Princess, or member of the Royal Family has done (to this day, her sons remain the only other people to have done so).
She was a huge advocate for the National AIDS Trust and the Leprosy Mission.

She visited the HALO Trust de-mining organization in Angola, walking on grounds that no Princess should have been. She insisted on wearing a face mask and the proper gear that the employees wore on site. She rolled up her sleeves and got to work, showing no worry towards the fear of losing a limb or her life.
She visited Mother Teresa and shortly thereafter, passed away from a tragic car accident.

She will always be remembered for her love of children.
She made everyone feel loved and welcome when she was in their presence.
She wasn't scared to touch or hug someone with AIDS.

She wasn't afraid to walk on dangerous grounds filled with landmines.
She was courageous and brave.
Her legacy still lives on through this foundation which was set up by her brother, Earl Spencer.

The Work Continues.

It's Been A While...

It's been a while, I know.
I just realized last night that I haven't blogged for a little over a week (yikes!)
I can't wait to catch up on everyone's blogs, I've missed hearing what's going on with you!

So what have I been up to since last Tuesday??? Hmmm where to begin...

School has been crazy but in it's own way. The semester is finishing up and I have lots of work to do before finals week.

I traveled down to DC to see my boyfriend, Nick, last Thursday to spend a few days with him. I am SO grateful that he's only 2 hours away, however, he will be moving within the next two months (hooray!) so he'll be 40 minutes closer!!!

My cousin's baby shower is next Saturday. She is expecting her first child, a boy, who will be named Mason (no, she didn't steal the name from Kourtney Kardashian!). I can't wait for our great big family to be there with all of our friends to celebrate. She is SO excited! The perk to having a big family?? LOTS AND LOTS OF PRESENTS!

As most of you know, I help my Dad run his restaurant as much as I can. I love being able to work with him, we get to meet SO many people everyday. Yesterday we went into the city and visited the 93.3 WMMR Radio Station's very own Preston & Steve. If you live in the Philadelphia area, you more than likely know these guys. They're awesome and a lot of fun to hang with! We promoted a new food challenge that we're doing at our restaurant and we're even on Facebook now!
Here are some pics from the day:

Me setting up to do my live on the air broadcast!

Live on the air! Woop woop!

Me broadcasting from the studio, TOO FUN!

WMMR's legendary Pierre Robert, he's hilarious!

(Left to right)
Marissa, Nick, Preston, Dad, Me, Steve, Kathy and Casey
WE HAD A BLAST!

So, as you can tell, it's been a crazy week. I apologize for falling off the map BUT I will be back for the next few days.
I'm leaving Friday morning to fly to Michigan to spend the Easter weekend with my Aunt, her two baby twins and some of my fam!

Have a great Wednesday! Don't forget to join in the Wishful Wednesday fun over at Kelsey's blog!!

Wishful Wednesday*)

It's Wishful Wednesday over at Kelsey's blog, hop on over to join in the fun!
This week's topic is:
'I wish' I could wear MONIQUE LHULLIER OR VERA WANG on my wedding day!

Ladies, let's face it. EVERY girl dreams of having the perfect dress to wear on her wedding day. It's like we're all born into this world of wedding planning and we have it all mapped out by the time the ring even hits our finger! Some of my best friends have been married for a few years now and I must say, it has been so amazing (and SUCH an honor!) to be standing next to them on their special day! I loved being there to see the planning going into their wedding! So...here are the two gowns that I absolutely LOVE and would die to have on my very own special day:o)

1. Monique Lhullier worn by Christine Baumgartner, Kevin Costner's wife

This was the very first dress that made me fall in love. It would be perfect for my wedding in the country:o)

2. Vera Wang worn by Kate Hudson in the movie "Bride Wars"
"You don't alter Vera to fit you, you alter yourself to fit Vera"-Bride Wars
This line was classic in one of my all-time favorite movies and it could not be anymore true!
I think when girls hear the word "wedding" they think of the following:
love. flowers. rings. Vera Wang.
right?
...and maybe Martha Stewart too:o)
I loved the lavendar sash on Kate's dress and her beautiful flowers!

So it's your turn! What dress would you LOVE to wear on your wedding day??

Wishful Wednesday*)

Kelsey over at the Seattle Smith's does a fun topic every Wednesday, check out her blog to join in!

Today's wishful topic is...
'I wish' I could have gone to the 2010 Winter Olympics to see one event, and it would have been Women's figure skating!

Joannie Rochette stole my heart when she dedicated her final skating performance to her mother, who passed away. The 24 year old Canadian was so gracious on the ice, I just sat there watching her, mesmerized.

The other skater who really caught my attention was Kim Nu-Ya from South Korea. This girl was AMAZING and she set an Olympic world record of 228.56 (which has been unheard of up until this year). Only 19 years old, she has acquired the nickname "Queen Nu-Ya" in her country. Will we see her again in another 4 years?

Wishful Wednesday*)

Kelsey at the Seattle Smiths gives a topic every Wednesday for you to "Wish" for...
Today's topic is:
'I wish' .... I could play a character's role in a book and it would be Andie Sachs from the Devil Wears Prada!

This book was SO much fun to read, I was so glad a movie was made from it because it was just as good! Meryl Streep as the big bad boss lady wearing Prada!? Pshh! YEAH!!

Andie, a new college grad with a degree in journalism, somehow lands an interview with Runway magazine (similar to Vogue) and has NO idea what she's getting herself into! She shows up for her interview in a wool cardigan, wool skirt, tights, clunky Mary-Jane shoes, uncombed hair and onion breath (from eating an onion bagel for breakfast). YIKES!

The editor-in-chief for Runway, Miranda Priestly, rips her apart during her interview and yet gives Andie the job as her assistant! Miranda is known to everybody as "the boss from Hell" and gives Andie many tasks that she believes will be impossible to complete. Andie befriends Nigel, the magazine's fashion director, and receives a head-to-toe makeover that completely transforms Andie's character. She walks in wearing the hottest designers and the trendiest haircut and makeup and wows the entire staff. She becomes extremely successful in the industry, working for such a difficult boss such as Miranda! Andie is chosen to go to fashion week in Paris (eek!) and somehow...survives. After returning home she leaves her job at Runway magazine and applies for a small job with a local newspaper, doing what she had always wanted to do in the first place...write. She is shocked to find out that Miranda had given her the best compliments and most sincere recommendation that any employee could ask for.

If you love Vogue magazine, fashion, scandal, fashion, Paris, fashion, makeover stories and, oh...fashion, then you will absolutely LOVE this book (and the movie too!).

Happy Wednesday friends:o)

Wishful Wednesday*) & More!

Wishful Wednesday

'I wish' .... I could have stolen Beyonce's spotlight at the Grammy's!

Beyonce just wanted to have fun at the Grammy's, lets face it! She was alllllll about the fun costumes, letting her hair down and putting on a great show...as she always does! I can't say I was too crazy about the Alanis Morissette "You Oughta Know" remix that was thrown into her performance but even still, Beyonce rocked it.

I even love that she brought her nephew Julez to the Grammy's! Her hubby, Jay-Z (who I just love to death) was cheering and applauding her all night long. They have always kept their personal life on the "D-L" but that night she wanted to thank her husband. During her acceptance speech for Best Female Vocal Performance she said:

"I'd love to thank my family for all of their support, including my husband. I love you"

...Jay-Z was shocked, stunned. Yeah...she's just THAT good:o)

Now onto other news...Kelsey (from the Seattle Smith's-I just love her blog) posted this wonderful Etsy site that just made me swoon. I am obsessed. What is it? Gussy!

Gussy is designed by Maggie Whitley

I showed this site to my Aunt and she surprised me with two of them as a Valentines Day treat!

(one of my favs, I can't wait for it to arrive!)

(like Kelsey, I COULDN'T pass this one up. This wallet is perfect!!)

"Gussy is a ruffle girl" and I think that's what I love so much about it. The ruffle is signature to their line of goodies. They come in all different sizes, colors and assortments. Check out Maggie's site, and treat yourself to something special! http://www.shopgussy.com

The best part...they are SOOO affordable! Enjoy!

Wishful Wednesday

'I wish' .... I could spend three minutes in _____'s shoes!

...for me it would be...FAITH HILL!

For as long as I can remember, I have adored Faith Hill. I'm not sure what started it all, but I do know that I admire her love for family. Faith is one of those women who is absolutely GORGEOUS, talented, smart and goofy all mixed into one person.

(PLUS, she's married to Tim McGraw...I mean COME ON ladies, who wouldn't want that!?)

This video is from the Oprah show, it shows Faith and Tim in their home making one of my oh-so-favorite traditional Southern dinners...chicken n' dumplings:o) Enjoy!

Wishful Wednesday*)

Wishful Wednesday
'I wish' .... I had the startup funds to build that company I have always dreamt about, and it would be a ___________________..."
...for me it would be a clothing company.
I'd say only a few of my family members and my closest friends know about my complete obsession with fashion. I've had a subscription to Vogue magazine since I was 16, I LOVE stores like Forever 21, Juicy Couture, Nordstrom, JCrew and Gap so I can mix trends (and prices-I like to layer so I find key pieces and then accessorize them, this can get costly unless you know where to look!), Sex and the City caught my attention because of the clothes not necessarily because of the sex and I take Polaroids of my favorite outfits and put them in a scrapbook...kinda weird, right??

Girls Night Out in Olde City, Philadelphia

*because I love to play on polyvore.com, I thought I'd share a DREAM set of mine:o) *

My clothing company would give you the complete head-to-toe look (in essence, you pick the look off of the website, catalog or in the store) PLUS the hair and makeup so that you can look your best...walking out the door. I'd like to extend the company and have a magazine that shows the looks at all different price ranges so that it can be affordable for anyone! Whether you use MAC or Cover Girl makeup or if you wear heels from Nine West instead of Louboutins, you can still look like a million bucks even if it didn't cost you that much!!
What dream company do you wish you had? To join in the Wishful Wednesday fun, check out The Seattle Smith's blog at http://kelseyandgabriel.blogspot.com/

Wishful Wednesday*)

I just saw the weather forecast on the news and saw that we are expected to get 1-3 inches of snow starting tomorrow night and going into Friday. It just so happens that I am off tomorrow (yeaaaaaaa!) AND Friday (hoorayyyyyyyyy!) so for that I am wishing for LOTS AND LOTS of snow! I can't wait to be able to sit and watch the snow fall outside while I'm curled up reading my Kindle with hot chocolate, play outside with my two dogs and not have to worry about driving in it for once!! Oh, and I also wish for the Flyers to beat the Penguins tomorrow night:o)

Happy Wednesday everyone!! xo

Today I wish for snow. We have been getting lots and lots of rain lately and quite honestly, its December. I would really LOVE some S.N.O.W:o)

Wishful Wednesday*)

On this rainy, dreary Wednesday night I am wishing that it was snow falling instead of rain. It's December 2nd and we haven't had a single snowflake yet. I am curled up on my couch, with a big mug of hot mint green tea, a fire lit in my fireplace, my twinkle Christmas lights are glowing, and the Holiday (one of my absolute favorite movies) is playing on my tv. Lesson plans are on hold for tonight:o) Happy Wednesday everyone!
