Ang goes to Washington!

I am heading to Washington DC to spend the weekend with Nick, hooray!
Everytime I visit him there, we always make a list of things we want to do/see.
We have tickets for the Phillies vs. Nationals game on Sunday
I can't wait to see the other man in my life (lol) Ryan Howard #6, our wonderful 1st baseman

My list of things I want to see/do this weekend:
Live music at the National Gallery of Art on Sunday evening

National Archives Building (to see the original Bill of Rights, Dec of Independence and Constitution)

Library of Congress

Capitol Building and/or Washington Monument

Being a history major, I really love to see the sights of Washington whether I'm considered a tourist or not. Nick and I have already seen a bunch of the museums and monuments so this list shouldn't be too hard to accomplish:o)

What is everyone up to this weekend?? Enjoy the beautiful weather while it lasts!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful that I get to visit Nick in DC this weekend. He's been traveling up here a lot to spend time with both of our families, this weekend it will just be us<3

I am thankful that the Phillies got Roy Oswalt in a trade today (if you aren't a sports fan, this is a really big deal-HUGE!) and that I will be at the Phillies vs. Nationals game in DC on Sunday with Nick. I love going to away games because it gets pretty competitive with the opposing teams fans:o)

I am thankful for RedBox. It's really nice to rent a movie for $1 once in awhile and its so convenient to return it on my way home from work. Last night I watched "When in Rome" with my Mom (it's adorable-I highly recommend it) and tonight we're watching "The Bounty Hunter" with Jen Aniston.

I am thankful that my next door neighbor and close friend, Jenn, got engaged on Monday! Her ring is gorgeous (Cartier ladies, yes, he's a keeper!) and her fiancee is so wonderful. I love weddings, so I'm excited to see everything that she's planning!

I am thankful for the sunny weather. Even though most people are complaining that it's hot (come on, its SUMMER) and humid, I enjoy it. I just keep reminding myself that fall is just around the corner and pretty soon those same people will be complaining about rain/snow/cold weather.

I am thankful for sparkling Deer Park water with lime. I have completely given up soda thanks in large part to this tasty drink! It's very refreshing and healthy at the same time.

Finally, I am thankful for my motivation skills. Without them I would not be revamping my room and reorganizing it to be exactly the way I need it for my busy life. Hooray!

What are you thankful for today?
What are your plans for the weekend?

Fill in the Blank...Saturday (oops!)

Lauren over at the Little Things We Do
does a really fun post on Fridays
...however, I missed it so I thought I'd do it today:o)
Hop on over to join in!

1. A very nostalgic place that reminds me of being a kid is Longwood Gardens. We lived just 5 minutes away from this beautiful landmark and had season passes every year. Almost every night, after dinner, my family and I would walk around the gardens. I would sometimes pretend that it was my very own backyard:o)

2. If someone really wants to show me how much they love me they would just tell me. I take a person's word to heart and I truly believe that you should say "I love you" unless they really mean it.

3. Lately I've been wondering a lot about just life in general. Nick's grandmother passed away this week and from talking with him about arrangements, it really put things in perspective for me. I met his Mom-Mom at their family Memorial Day picnic this year and just 3 months later, she passed from cancer. You never know when your time is up, therefore, its very important to live each day as it's your last and tell those you love just how much they really mean to you.

4. When it comes to saving money I am both good and bad. I like to set goals and keep them in mind when saving. For instance, I would LOVEEEEEEEE to get that new Longchamp handbag BUT I really need to save for an apartment. I do like to treat myself once in a while though:o)

5. I'd prefer a mellow night at home over a night out at the bars anyday! Now don't get me wrong, I am the furthest thing from a "home-body" but lately I've been over the whole bar scene. I love my nights out every now and then, especially with my favorite girlfriends or my wonderful boyfriend for a date night, but on a Friday night you'll more than likely see me cooking a great dinner at home and watching a movie or sitting outside with a drink in my hand!

6. I wish I knew how to make clothes. I always look through magazines to get really neat ideas but then I have to pay someone to make them for me:o( It would be a great sense of accomplishment if I could learn how to make a sewing machine and make all of the clothes that I'd love to see in my closet!

7. I'm just waiting for this coming Thursday! Nick is working in New Jersey this week at the Long Branch office (luckily I am off on Thursday) so I am driving up to visit the beautiful beach there while he works:o) He sent me pictures from his last visit, it looked like an island so I KNEW I had to visit soon! Woohoo!

Have a great weekend friends:o)
*Nick's grandmother's funeral is on Tuesday so I may not be blogging until Wednesday, xoxo*
