Teenager Tuesday

I drove down to the beautiful countryside to visit my wonderful cousins tonight. They're really like my brother and sisters/nieces and nephew in my eyes, I love that they look forward to spending time with me whenever they can:o)

Our night consisted of the typical teenage diet: pizza, Sour Patch Kids and Chex Mix, the movie of the night was Hoot (luckily a fav of mine), and I got the run through of their extreme social networking including Skype, Facebook, text messaging, phone calls and emails (which apparently isn't cool anymore). After asking if anyone blogs, they looked at me with a disgusted look and said "umm no". Wow, I guess i'm officially old if I blog! Lol!

The vote went to American Idol on tv and Owl City on their iPods...I don't know if I've just been out of the loop or if I just need to spend more time with these fabulous teens because I remember growing up with TGIF on tv (which included Full House, Step by Step and Family Matters), ET was a hit movie (yes, Drew Barrymore was about...5??), we had cassette tapes and a phone that was built into the wall (you know, the one with that longgggg cord that always got tangled up) and of course...Madonna and New Kids on the Block were the ones pouring out of the radio (oh yeah, did I mention MTV was JUST created then!?).

A fun night for sure, and it ALMOST made me wish I was a teenager again...but being 25 isn't so bad either:o)

"Not-Me!" Monday

Friday night I did not meet up with my cousin Amy who is expecting her first child (a baby girl! yesssssss!) at our favorite restaurant, Cosi. We were not really bummed when we found out they were out of the fun Smores that they have there, one of the reasons why we go!

We did not giggle and talk about her upcoming baby shower. I am not excited to be the fun, young aunt!! I did not then meet up with two of my best girlfriends and their hubbies for some drinks and laughs. My friend Steph moved home from Indiana with her husband Jason and I am not THRILLED to know that the girls are back together!! Operation Girls Nights begins!!!!

Saturday after work I did not go to see Brett's basketball game (Brett is one of the kids who I babysat for almost 5 years and now only have the chance to hang with when his mom is out!! You can never be too old to babysit I think, they are SUCH good kids!), he did not do a great job and give me a high five afterwards. This does not make me super proud nor do I enjoy being the fun "friend" type instead of a babysitter. I did not watch the Eagles/Cowgirls game with Rob, I was not crushed when I saw how terrible the Birds were doing. I was not secretly hoping that we would get rid of McNabb even though he gets us closer and closer to a Super Bowl every year.

I did not finish "Dear John" by Nicholas Sparks. I did not love it just as I love ALL of Nicholas Sparks' books. I am not excited to see the movie when it comes out!!

Please send me some suggestions for my next yummy read!!

Today I did not make a Target run, nope not me!! (seriously, Target will be the death of me--it is WAY too convenient, I spend WAY too much money there!) I did not go in with the intention of buying two new pillows but instead came out with WAY more than I intended. This is DEF not me!!! I did not find an espresso colored wood bookshelf that I have not been eyeing up for awhile now, it was not on sale, so I did NOT decide that I had to have it. I did not watch the Villanova/Louisville basketball game, I do not look forward to college basketball and football every year. I do not live for it. I do not adore Nova's coach, Jay Wright!

I did not do two loads of laundry and dread having to fold all the clean clothes. I do not loathe folding, ironing and organizing clean clothes. I did not decide that when I do this, I will now watch Keeping up with the Kardashians to make time pass quickly:o)

I did not decide that tomorrow on my day off I will not be doing the following: cleaning my bathroom and kitchen, powerwalk, finish putting away the rest of my holiday decorations, start (and hopefully finish) scrapbooking November and December 2009, and clean out my closet for my yearly donation to Goodwill.

My Road Less Traveled...

I feel very fortunate to have been successful with many things that I have done in my life. I thank my lucky stars everyday that I have the ambition to do well with anything I do, always putting my best foot forward. I have chosen to go off the beaten path with a decision of mine, which at first didn't seem good at all, but after talking with some family members, may seem to benefit me more in the long run that I realized. I will update you all very soon but for now I'll leave you with one of my favorite poems from one of my favorite poets. Enjoy, xo

Thankful Thursdays

I'm thankful for my new blog friends, its wonderful to learn so much about new people! I love to see how people design their blogs and use their creativity through their words:o)

I'm thankful for our Nespresso machine that my stepdad just bought for me and my family to use. It's similar to a Keurig single cup coffee machine but better...it not only makes a single cup o' joe but also makes an espresso, latte or cappuccino. The coffee pods are teeny tiny but DELICIOUS, I'm actually addicted to the decaf brew right now!

I'm thankful for my Kindle. I know I've said this time and time again but I love to read. I love that it fits perfectly in my purse and I can take it with me wherever I go. My dad gave my Kindle to me for Christmas and I've managed to read three books since then! Right now I'm reading "Dear John" by Nicholas Sparks and its WONDERFUL. I'm excited to see the movie when it comes out!

I'm thankful for all the babies being brought into this world. Three of my friends are pregnant and all three are having girls!!!!!! I can't wait to meet these little ones! I'm thankful that each of my friends are having a safe and enjoyable pregnancy, it must be an incredible feeling!

I'm thankful for stylish reusable shopping totes. I like to think that I make a pretty good effort to be "green" in my everyday life. I use "green" cleaning products, I reuse plastic bags, I recycle, I use a stainless steel "Sigg" bottle for taking water with me, and I really do try and remember to bring my reusable shopping bags into Target and the grocery stores with me. I just recently got my hands on a few new ones that are made of recycled plastic and are a lot more durable than the ones that feel like cloth. There's nothing better than being stylish while being green:o)

I'm thankful for those of you who have not made a New Year resolution to eat healthy and go on diets because it keeps my Dad's restaurant VERY busy:o) ( I say this in a very joking way of course, I do wish you all the best with your resolutions!!) We are a novelty in this area and we like to think that that's what makes us successful. I'm VERY thankful for this.

I'm thankful for my down-feather puffy jacket, wool hat, gloves, scarf, Uggs and ALL things that keep me warm when I'm outside in this cold wintry weather! I'm a sucker for marketing this time of year. I will invest in anything that is comfy and cozy so that I'm nice and warm on those windy, frigid days.

I'm thankful for Gmail. I love that my emails are so organized and I don't have to struggle to find ones that I might have saved or deleted. It's SO easy to use. If you aren't using Gmail, check it out, I KNOW you'll love it as much as I do!

Wishful Wednesday*)

I just saw the weather forecast on the news and saw that we are expected to get 1-3 inches of snow starting tomorrow night and going into Friday. It just so happens that I am off tomorrow (yeaaaaaaa!) AND Friday (hoorayyyyyyyyy!) so for that I am wishing for LOTS AND LOTS of snow! I can't wait to be able to sit and watch the snow fall outside while I'm curled up reading my Kindle with hot chocolate, play outside with my two dogs and not have to worry about driving in it for once!! Oh, and I also wish for the Flyers to beat the Penguins tomorrow night:o)

Oops! I Missed "Not-Me Monday!"...AGAIN:o(

Ok I'm back friends:o) I woke up this morning to two emails from two of my favs wondering where I've been because I haven't blogged much since before the start of the holiday season. I'm glad to tell you that I will be a faithful blogger, once again, to keep you all updated on my busy but wonderful life! I missed "not-me monday" so here is a quick re-cap:

I did not work a whole lot of hours this weekend with my little brother, I was not proud of him for busting his butt. As a 16 year old, he is really ambitious to become a money maker and rack up his savings account. I do not absolutely adore him, he is not one of my best friends...he did not give me the nickname "boss" which does not make me laugh when he says it. I was not really disappointed to see the Eagles loss Sunday afternoon, however I was not ECSTATIC that the Giants got killed and knocked out of the playoffs.

I did not go with my Dad to see the Princess Diana exhibit at the National Constiution Center in Philadelphia. She has not been my idol since I was little, my Dad did not do everything possible to get tickets for the exhibit knowing this was a once in a lifetime experience. I did not cry throughout the entire exhibit...no, let me rephrase that, I did not SOB throughout the whole thing, so much, that a lady handed me not one, not two, but a PACK of tissues. I did not enjoy learning about Diana. I never had the pleasure of meeting her but I feel like I did after I left. I also did not get yelled at for sneaking in my camera and taking some pics that I HAD to have to remember her by (oops!). Thank you Dad, it really did mean the world to me, xo.


I did not have a nice New Years eve with a bunch of friends, I did not get sad when I saw Dick Clark broadcast, struggling to get his words out but still talked with a smile on his face. I did not give up alcohol for my New Years resolution, which meant I had to drink sparkling cider at midnight...I did not feel lame for doing this but I think this is a good goal to accomplish...we'll see how long it REALLY lasts:o)

I did not download two new books to my Kindle which I am not ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with. I am not reading "Dear John" by Nicholas Sparks (I can't wait for the movie to come out), I did not just finish "Waiter Rant" by Steve Dublanica, a recommendation from my friend Katie. I did not love it, I would not recommend it to anyone who has ever worked in the restaurant industry--> you will not crack up while reading it!

I did not go into the city yesterday with Rob, just for fun. We did not go and have my two favorite snacks in Chinatown (bubble tea and rainbow cake) then head over to Olde City to visit the Liberty Bell, then walk around the entire city just talking, laughing and enjoying each other's company:o) I did not have a blast, as always.


I did not wake up today and think to myself: "Wow Ang you need to really do some serious cleaning". I did not make myself clean my bathroom, kitchen and living room top to bottom even though I wasn't feeling that great. Tomorrow I am gutting my room and starting from scratch (another New Years resolution in the making).

I did not get an adorable card in the mail today from my friend Laura, I am not glad that I still have a few penpals that keep up our tradtion of "snail mail" instead of emails, texts and blogging. It's very special:o)

I am not happy to see that some of the people in my neighborhood still have their Christmas lights up. It does not make me smile as I drive home from work at night. I do not wish that Christmas was coming up again (Christmas in July anyone!?). I am not starting to get excited about Valentines Day, I am not thinking ahead for some really cute ideas:o)

I am not going to finish watching the Orange Bowl tonight even though I could really care less about either of the teams playing. I am not reminiscing about the year that my cheerleading team and I danced in the halftime show at the Orange Bowl at Pro Player Stadium in Miami, FL. This was not one of the best memories I'll ever have of cheering. It makes me want to coach so badly!!
