It's Been A While...

It's been a while, I know.
I just realized last night that I haven't blogged for a little over a week (yikes!)
I can't wait to catch up on everyone's blogs, I've missed hearing what's going on with you!

So what have I been up to since last Tuesday??? Hmmm where to begin...

School has been crazy but in it's own way. The semester is finishing up and I have lots of work to do before finals week.

I traveled down to DC to see my boyfriend, Nick, last Thursday to spend a few days with him. I am SO grateful that he's only 2 hours away, however, he will be moving within the next two months (hooray!) so he'll be 40 minutes closer!!!

My cousin's baby shower is next Saturday. She is expecting her first child, a boy, who will be named Mason (no, she didn't steal the name from Kourtney Kardashian!). I can't wait for our great big family to be there with all of our friends to celebrate. She is SO excited! The perk to having a big family?? LOTS AND LOTS OF PRESENTS!

As most of you know, I help my Dad run his restaurant as much as I can. I love being able to work with him, we get to meet SO many people everyday. Yesterday we went into the city and visited the 93.3 WMMR Radio Station's very own Preston & Steve. If you live in the Philadelphia area, you more than likely know these guys. They're awesome and a lot of fun to hang with! We promoted a new food challenge that we're doing at our restaurant and we're even on Facebook now!
Here are some pics from the day:

Me setting up to do my live on the air broadcast!

Live on the air! Woop woop!

Me broadcasting from the studio, TOO FUN!

WMMR's legendary Pierre Robert, he's hilarious!

WE HAD A BLAST!

So, as you can tell, it's been a crazy week. I apologize for falling off the map BUT I will be back for the next few days.
I'm leaving Friday morning to fly to Michigan to spend the Easter weekend with my Aunt, her two baby twins and some of my fam!

Have a great Wednesday! Don't forget to join in the Wishful Wednesday fun over at Kelsey's blog!!

Top 2 Tuesday...Things You Can't Live Without!

Top 2 Things You Can't Live Without...
( I think we're all in agreement that this blog is supposed to be fun, food/water/necessities are not included!)

1. Lip gloss/Lip balm
My absolute favorite is Rosebud Salve which I've been using since I was little.
It makes your lips super smooth and gives them just a little sheen.
Best part? It has rosebud oil in it so it smells like fresh roses! Yum!
You can buy it at Sephora

2. iPod touch & cell phone
I put both of these into one because they are equally my lifeline.
Ever since I got rid of my Blackberry (aka "Crackberry") I have leeched onto my iPod touch.
Between social networking, emails, blogs, music, weather, and maps, I couldn't be anywhere without this thing.

Weekend Bits and Pieces

Raise your hand if you had a great weekend!!! I did! I did:o)

My wonderful boyfriend came home from DC to visit me this weekend and we couldn't have asked for better weather! It was beautiful! I met his parents, he met mine and of course, he came to Sunday dinner at Mom-Mom's house again (he's hooked).

Saturday was oh-so-busy, I worked a double because it was "Free Ritas" day for the first day of Spring. People came in for lunch & dinner then went next door for their water ice fix. **by the way, I'm not so crazy about the new Peeps flavored ice for Easter, Swedish Fish is still my fav!**

Tonight is date night with Dad, we're going to the Sixers game to see the boys:o) I can't wait!

Stay tuned for pics from the Taylor Swift concert, she did such an amazing job! I would go see her again in a heartbeat!

What did everyone do this weekend??

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful that Nick is coming home this weekend and I will be meeting his fam. He will also be meeting my Mom and Dad:o)

I am thankful that my Uncle surprised me with Taylor Swift tickets for tonight! I am taking my cousins, Lauren and Jessica. We are sooo excited! We will be next to the stage and singing every word!

(the three of us girls, xo)

I am thankful that the weather will almost reach 70 by Friday! Hooray for Spring!!!

I am thankful for my oh-so-comfy bed which has allowed me to adjust to the time change in a good way.

I am thankful that I'm almost done a paper that I will be very proud to hand in. It's on President Obama's Healthcare Reform so I'll spare you the details:o)

I am thankful that my 16 brother is going a party Friday night and was smart enough to ask me to come pick him up so he doesn't have to get a ride home from a drunk kid.

I am thankful that I found two pairs of jeans from last year because I am happy to say I'm down yet another size, just in time for Spring!!!!

Happy Thursday! What are you thankful for today?

Just Something to Think About...

I don't know if its because the weather is getting so very sunny and beautiful or if its because I'm sitting here with my windows open listening to Jack Johnson's "Never Know" and bopping my head around but I feel really inspired today.

There is one thing that I've been thinking about a lot lately.

goals. ambitions. dreams.

what are some things that you've always wanted to do in life?
we are put here on this Earth to live our lives to the fullest, right?
we generally only live to see 100 years, if we're lucky.
so what are some things that you really want to accomplish in your lifetime?

as Gandhi once said "be the change you wish to see in the world"
instead of talking about it, why not just do it? make a change, do things that you've always wanted to do.
don't wait another month and put it off any longer. it will make you happy once you do it.

I've ALWAYS wanted to be a teacher. My idol has always been Princess Diana.
I figured if I couldn't be a real Princess, I sure as heck could try and do the things she once did. I think teachers really make a difference in people's lives. In some way, shape, or form, they make us who we are. Have you ever had a teacher who left a mark on your heart? If not, I'm sorry you haven't had a chance to experience that but maybe someone will still come along:o)

I love to volunteer during my spare time. I'm that girl who waits for the little old lady in the parking lot to cross the street with her walker to get in the door. I stand there waiting with the door open. I don't care how long it takes her, she knows I'm there to say "hi" and then leave.

I like to do as much as I can in the little amount of time that I have. It's not about me, its about others. I like to know that I have made someone smile (hopefully more than one person) or they feel better because I was there to listen to what they had to say. I always send cards to my friends, just so they know I'm thinking of them and I'm always here. I don't expect anything back, I just try to be a good friend.

So tell me, I wanna hear it...
What are somethings you wanna do?
Big or small
Within reach or way far out of reach
Short term or long

Start with one thing today.

If I Were...

Maria's blog today made me think that this would be fun to do as well...enjoy:o) Hope you join in the fun too!

If I were...

If I were a month, I'd be August

If I were a day of the week, I'd be Saturday

If I were a time of day, I'd be afternoon

If I were a planet, I'd be Earth.

If I were a sea animal, I'd be a fish

If I were a direction, I'd be the south.

If I were a piece of furniture, I'd be a hammock (does that count!?)

If I were a liquid, I'd be pink lemonade

If I were a gemstone, I'd be a diamond, of course! (especially after seeing the ones in the Smithsonian this weekend!)

If I were a tree, I'd be a palm tree.

If I were a tool, I'd be a pencil.

If I were a flower, I'd be a white daisy with the yellow center.

If I were a kind of weather, I'd be a hot summer day, 85 degrees, just hot enough to make everyone slow down a little bit. Sun is shining, music is playing, life is good.

If I were a musical instrument, I'd be a guitar.

If I were a color, I'd be pink. I'm a girly girl.

If I were an emotion, I'd be happiness:o)

If I were a fruit, I'd be pineapple

If I were an element, I'd be water

If I were a car, I'd be a Jeep Wrangler with no doors and sand on the floor from barefeet

If I were a food, I'd be fruit

If I were a place, I'd be the beach, the ocean

If I were a material, I'd be bamboo (I just got these bamboo sheets and they are soooo soft!)

If I were a scent, I'd be the smell of suntan lotion or coconut....

If I were an animal, I'd be a bird

If I were a facial expression, I'd be a smile

If I were a body part I'd be legs

If I were a song, I’d be "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley or "Who I Am" by Jessica Andrews
If I were a pair of shoes, I'd be stilettos
