This weekend was one of the best weekends I've had in a longggg time even though it was VERY busy!!
Friday night I went to Victory (a local brewery that puts my hometown on the map) to meet up with Nick, a friend of mine since way back in the 7th grade. We met there at 6 and midnight we decided we needed to change venues so we went to a little bar just around the corner and continued talking for another 3 hours...at 3:00 am...I finally got some sleep. Nick was in my homeroom class in 7th grade, the very first year in middle school and we've remained very close friends ever since. We went to Shippensburg together, he knew my beloved Brooke, we worked at the same summer camp together and still keep in touch. I just love that! It doesn't happen very often that people stay so close!
Saturday I worked my usual open to close shift at work, giving my Dad the night off. Our friend Meg was in Argentina & Buenos Aires for a trip and when we got the phone call saying she felt the earthquake that hit Chile...we were scared that she wasn't going to get home. Luckily, she was safe and she got the next flight out the morning after. Whew! My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this awful disaster.
Sunday I met up with my cousin/best friend Amy and her boyfriend. Amy is pregnant and expecting her first baby, a boy, who will be named Mason:o) What a cute name! I made the trip down to the country for my family Sunday dinner at Mom-Mom's house. We made these adorable little cherry pies that were in the shape of hearts, sooooooo yummy! I had bought Mom-Mom these heart pie molds from Williams Sonoma for her bday so she was very anxious to use them! I'm glad we did!
Due to this awful snowy weather I have decided that I need to make my yearly plans to get a-w-a-y! I booked two trips however, two more will be coming up at the middle-end of summer.
I am doing my absolute very best to keep in touch with as many people as possible from high school. These people meant a lot to me, even if I didn't know them very well. SOOOO many of them have kept in touch and have constantly asked me how things are going in my life. I have promised so many that I would come and visit, but with no avail, my plans always fell through or I just simply dragged my feet.
I am making my first trip down to Washington DC this month to visit my friends Nick (who I mentioned earlier), Charlotte and (fingers crossed) Jenni as well. We are going to the Shamrockfest while I'm visiting and I'm SO excited to see what that's like!
In April I will be flying to Michigan to visit my Aunt Sherri, her husband and baby twins for Easter. She has just recently opened up her own salon/spa, so believe me when I say that this trip will be well worth it (a girl has to get pampered sometimes, ya know?)!
I hope you all had a great weekend, I didn't get a chance to blog or comment at all because I was playing the part of Speedy Gonzales for three days.
If you haven't already done so, please send your thoughts and prayers to Layla Grace's family at her website or you can follow her on twitter @laylagrace. You will understand why this little girl has left such an impression on my heart. She will be missed, xo

glad you had s good weekend too! Have fun in DC :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I am blessed with a son I want to name him an M name. I like Mason but I think it sounds too much like Meagan. Don't want anyone to get confused. I like Matthew too. I found out this weekend it means gift of God. I like that.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good weekend! Have fun in DC!
