In honor of my 26th birthday this coming weekend, my Mom-Mom decided to send me my birthday gift a little early:o) Boy was I surprised!!!
She gave me my first sewing machine!!!

Needless to say, I was kind of overwhelmed when I first started looking at it and reading up on all the different parts, patterns, fabrics, etc. But now I'm really excited to learn! I think this is going to be a great project to keep me busy when I move (mannn if I was just lucky enough to have 3 bedrooms or a basement to use as a craft room lol-that will be our next house!!) and the snowy weather starts to roll in. But for now I'm going to research and read up on what I need to know and supplies that I need to get:o)
Ladies, do you have any pointers or tips? What did you do to learn how to sew for the first time? Was it trial and error or did you read up on your knowledge?
I think this is just so neat :-) When I started baking and decorating, I used to get so frustrated with myself. Since when do we expect to be experts at anything before trial and error, reading, learning by mistakes, etc??
ReplyDeleteI have really embraced reading up, researching, and learning about what I'm interested in-- it just makes sense, right?? The more you know, the more you grow... as they say :-D Have a great time learning about it all!!
