My friend Kelly at Keeping Up with Kelly & Co hosts a very fun blog every Friday to make everyone laugh! Funny Friday is a great way to start off your weekend, so check out her blog at http://kellyandgregmansfield.blogspot.com/
**By the way...can anyone tell me how I can put someone's name as a link to their page instead of their long blog address?? I'm still fairly new at blogging!!**
In honor of this enormous 'Noreaster that is coming right for PA, I thought this would make everyone laugh:o)
Also, my new blog friend Maria takes part in a "Show Us Your Life" blog that I thought would be really fun to join in as well! Today's topic is Favorite Beauty Products (you know, the ones you just CAN'T live without!). Check out her blog at http://maria-kilgore.blogspot.com/
*Thanks to Kelly and Maria for inviting me to join in their fun Friday topics!*
My FAVORITE Beauty Products I Use Everyday Are...
1. Purity facial cleanser from Philosophy-this is THE BEST! It makes my skin feel so soft and it has that subtle fresh clean scent to it. It gets all that grime off from makeup, oil and dirt. I use it in the morning and again at night. It's creamy so it won't dry your skin out.
2. Hope in a Jar moisturizer from Philosophy-again, THE BEST! It looks thick but when you smooth it on your skin it feels like satin, yet soaks right in. This is great for me all year round and I use the one that has SPF 15 in it so I don't have to worry about those ugly wrinkles when I'm older!
3. Hope in a Tube eye cream from Philosophy-a god send. For all those late nights out, or even a night of tossing and turning in bed, waking up with puffy eyes or dark circles (which really doesn't happen often but I use it anyway-just in case!) I use this eye cream every night.
4. Bare Escentuals mineral makeup-my lifeline. I started using this when I was a waitress a few years ago. I was sold on it when I wore it to work (I was working outside in the summer-heat and humidity are not so good for most makeup) and it didn't budge. Unlike liquid foundation, it doesn't melt off your face-you can even sleep in it, it's not bad for your skin! I love it because it gives me all over, even coverage everytime. Plus...it only takes me 10 minutes to do my ENTIRE makeup routine every morning!
5. MAC and Bobbi Brown get my vote for eyeshadows and eyeliners, HOWEVER, there is ONE eyeshadow (I use it as a base and a highlighter) that I can't go a day without...Champagne eyeshadow by Cover Girl.
6. Orgasm blush by Nars-it gives a little peachy glow to the apples of my cheeks and I always get compliments when I wear it:o)
7. Bad Gal mascara by Benefit Cosmetics (available at Sephora)-it makes my lashes look full and thick and doesn't rub off making my eyes look like a raccoon's eyes! I also love the classic pink and green tube of Great Lash waterproof mascara by the ever-so-popular Maybelline. *Note: MANY makeup artists use this at Fashion Week in NYC-its incredible*
8. I LOVE lipgloss but it has to meet my criteria for me to splurge and buy the good stuff (not too sticky, won't rub off and it can't look overly wet so I look like I'm drooling-trust me, I see girls wearing glosses like that all the time-eww.) My favs are these: MAC Lustreglass Lipgloss in Wonderstruck, Nars lipgloss in Orgasm, Bobbi Brown lipgloss in Melon and Bare Escentuals Lip Buxom lipgloss in Amber
9. My signature scent is Ralph by Ralph Lauren (the blue bottle), I've been wearing it for years and I constantly have people asking me "What are you wearing? It smells really good!". If I'm going out at night I wear my favorite perfume, Prada, given to me by my Grandmom for Christmas last year-a little bit goes a long way ladies!
10. 2-3 times a week I exfoliate my face to get all the gross dead skin off (crucial in the winter) and I will NEVER use anything but St. Ives Apricot Scrub-its inexpensive, gentle and even available at some grocery stores!!
Ladies, what beauty products can't you live without?? Did anything make you laugh this week? Happy Friday!!!!!!

when you are typing a new post, click on the "link" button and you can put in the web address and the name you want it to display!
ReplyDeletei love nars lipgloss, i am currently wearing turkish delight haha ;)
Funny!!! Good luck this weekend with the weather, stay warm! :-)
ReplyDeleteJenna is totally right-- it's so easy! Just in case you don't have the "new" post editor though (the old one doesn't have that handy link button and I used to have to do it the hard way) go to the Settings Tab... under Basic tab, and scroll down to Global Settings-- make sure you have "updated editor" selected. Hope that helps!
ohhhhhhhhhhhh ok thanks ladies! I had to get the updated editor, thank goodness I'm "in the new" now:o) the snow has JUST started here...we are in a "snow emergency" warning (yuck!!). jenna-I'm def gonna try that lipgloss, miss you! xo
ReplyDeleteTooooo fun! I love new make up ideas :)
ReplyDeleteI always loved St. Ives Apricot scrub. I'm switching off Proactiv soon (too darn expensive) and maybe I'll go back to that!
ReplyDeleteJenna and Kelly had it right. It's simple and easy...you can also highlight what you want to be seen/have as a link and then click on the button that says link (or looks like a globe) and then type in the web address and you're all set. Have fun.
